Active Protection freezes my T60

#1 Post by Vripper » Wed May 23, 2007 2:27 am

Sorry if this topic has already been discussed, but I couldn't find any relevant posts through searching.

After doing a clean system install due to some malware that installed itself from the web, my Active Protection system acts up all the time.

The system freezes about half the time if Active protection has to pause the hard drive, and the only solution is holding down the power button to restart.

Any suggestions? I just wish it performed as well as when I first got my T60 :?:

Have you tried turning down the sensitivity? Also, are you sure it's the HDAPS? By that I mean do you have the icon in the system tray and it each time your system freezes the icon is indicating that the hard drive is paused (or stopped)? Lastly, is this happening when you're at a desk with no movement, on a train, or on your lap. I ask because if it's happening at a desk there might be something else wrong. Finally, have you tried just reinstalling HDAPS?

Properly installed on a properly running machine, Hard Drive protection will not pause to the point of a hard power off. The only time it pauses for me is when the machine moves; otherwise, it is totally benign. ... JDH
