Hello I have been getting this message for a while now. I did recently purchase a 512k mem simm and I, like most others, felt this was the issue, so, out it came. Same message comes back even w/o the mem stick (original is a 256k simm). This message usually happens within a few mins of boot, if not during boot.

Now, having said that, last night, I was fooling about with the memory simms, and once, after I had swapped, I forgot to plug the laptop back into the transformer (hence, battery only). Lo and behold, it ran all night, no issue (on battery).

Today, I booted sans electicity again, no issue, but, when I plugged the power jack in, the pc locked up.

Am I crazy here? Is there any corelation between the memory and the battery/electricity? Any suggestions?

Did the blue screen mention any filename? If so the file can be part of some drivers that might help tracking down the issue. If it's hardware problem then restoring the factor image using Rescue and Restore should show the same blue screen.

Dear all:

Thanks a lot for the advice! I am not very well verse in computers, but I'll give it a try to your suggestions and let you know the outcome. I do not know the model of my R51, it's at home.

Thanks a lot,

Alejandro
