graphic card question..
graphic card question..
I have more questions..
So I am looking to choose T42 (2379fvu) and Sony Z1WA
I know that T42 has Radeon 9600 Which a great graphic card, much better than that of Z1's.
Z1WA has ATI Radeon Mobility 16MB. (According to their spec)
Now is the Z1 graphic card an dedicated graphics card or a integrated graphic processor like Intel 855GME Extreme Graphics 2??
If both are integrated then which one is better?
I just want to let everyone know I don't play 3D games, the only game that I play is starcraft, so high end 3D graphics card is unncessary for me.
Thanks again in advance

I don't know anything about the z1, but if it is a new model and it only has 16 megs of graphic memory, i would bet that it is dedicated. The ATI 9600 is not integrated, it is dedicated memory and is leaps and bounds better than a 16 meg card. If you do not play 3D games, the sony should be enough, but you never know what you might be doing in the future, I would give myself more breathing room and go for the 9600 in case you start needing a better graphics processor in the future. Hope this helps.

For the love of god, don't get the z1! Buy an iBook...buy anything...just don't get a new computer that has a 16mb graphics card! That thing is ridiculously overpriced, considering that you receive a pile of junk for your hard-earned cash. If you have enough money to burn that you are considering an expensive computer with a 16mb card, like the z1, burn a little more and get your money's worth with a Sony s170 or something more appropriate.

Yes, in my opinion ,the 16M vmemory isn't enough though you've mentioned your habit of fewer 3D games. Radeon 9600 isn't integrated, it's independent with high performance. I think it'll give you great exprience. Wish you good luck.
