Bluetooth 2.0 w/ EDR on T42?

#1 Post by gblandon » Fri May 25, 2007 10:04 am

I had been using Widcomm 5.1.0.1100 and could not get A2DP working on my Motorola HT820 in stereo, only in mono. It did, however, allow me to browse and transer files to and from my Motorola V3c cell phone via FTP.

I tried a suggestion I read about here of using the Toshiba stack and voila! Instant A2DP in clear, crystal stereo to my HT820. The thing is that "My Bluetooth Places" is now gone from my system and I cannot innitiate any sort of FTP connection to my V3c to transfer files.

Does anyone have any idea or suggestions on how I can have my cake and eat it, too?

At this point, I'd be more than willing to just replace my BDMC for a newer Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR version, but I can't find one anywhere on lenovo.com or ibm.com

Any help is appreciated.
I have a T42 model 2378-DUU , btw.

Unfortunately, there is no internal bluetooth 2.0 EDR card for T42.

Bluetooth 2.0 w/ EDR on T42?

Well, it's not exactly what I wanted to hear. Thank you so much for responding, though.

What appears to be everyone's top choice for adding (external) Bluetooth to a T42? I suspect that a PCMCIA card might be less intrusive than a USB stick.

Any suggestions?

I used this one on a 600X, you will only see a feww millimeters of the antenna.

The application it came with and the performance is excelent.

Bluetooth 2.0 w/ EDR on T42?

Thanks. I had heard of that card before, but it doesn't come with Widcomm drivers; it uses a Toshiba stack. I'm kind of partial to the Widcomm software. I guess what I need is a PCMCIA card that supports Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and comes with Widcomm drivers. Am I asking for too much?
