A31p - white is pink when screen comes back on
I notice this most when I wake up my display from a blank screen saver.
If there's any white areas on screen, they look pink at first, and then gradually turn back to white. The machine has been doing this for a while.
However, now that there's less than a year left on the warranty, I'm wondering if this is a sign that something's going to fail before too long...

Bluto,
it seems to be a not really rare event: I had to return my own A31P within the first months and the one of my wife turned pink - the same way yours does - when I recieved it second hand (1 1/2 years old).
I sent it in (IBM-Service-partner in Germany), it came back repaired and tested within a week.

started with IBM-XT (80186) and AST-Ascentias NB (910N) in the 90ties, relying on Thinkpads (770X, A31Ps) until 2012,
now using an upgraded T60-61P "Frankenpad" (15"UXGA-LED Penryn 8GB 500GB/7200), and an X201/X230T (i7 8/16GB/500GB) Windows10

Yeah,
I find that the A3x series has more than one flaw. The video card is definately a weakness on these machines. My mobo has been replaced twice, the second time it came back working as new. Apart from the fact that the firewire port did not work (and still does not) I have a repair call running for 4 weeks now and I will only be turning it (the machine) in when the replacement parts are available. The last time replacement of mobo meant I had to miss my machine for 7 (yes seven) weeks.
