Replacing Keyboard Bezel on T42p

So I'm trying to screw the 15" keyboard bezel for my t42p back into place. In following the instructions in the manual, I first screw in the "1" screws ("b" in the manual) then I screw in 5 of the "2" screws ("c" in the manual).

the manual then says that the "d" screw (also a "2") can't go into place without the keyboard in place. Either way, I can't seem to get it in. Even with the bezel off, none of the "2" screws goes into the screw hole straight.

Any ideas?

hmm, tried it again today and everything worked fine.
