Can I get basic IBM Thinkvantage software for Vista on T42?

#1 Post by silo » Sun May 27, 2007 5:23 am

I have a T42 with a new 80G 7200 drive, 2G of ram, a multiburner, etc. and I would like to have the basic Thinkvantage software, if it works with Vista, which I'm running.

How and where can I get it and DOES IT work with Vista? I'm thinking of the basic "set up your Thinkpad" software where you turn everything on and off. Maybe the LAN manage software. Anything else that would seem essential or useful.

Right now I have Thinkvantage Active Protection installed (does that make sense with an aftermarket (Hitachi) drive?), and Thinkvantage System Update (which just told me I need a couple things like a registry patch, a hotkey features update, a power manager thing, and an easy eject update.

What's the deal on Thinkvantage and Vista?
