IBM 11b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter
IBM 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter
IBM 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter II

You may also have luck with other wireless G IBM-branded cards. IBM-branded is the key part.

Definitely shouldn't need a hack, and even though it doesn't mention X31 as one of the supported laptops I'd say it should work. But I'm not totally sure. :)

Note that the list of compatible card IDs is embedded in the BIOS. Depending on the age of the BIOS on your X31, you may need to update it first before you can use the above (or other) wireless cards.

The Intel 2915abg card in the eBay listing is indeed an IBM version, but you may note that the eBay description specifies "X32" rather than "X31" or "X30"; that means that the BIOS inclusion may be an issue.

Incidentally, the no-1802 hack is quite safe. It doesn't modify the BIOS, but, rather, simply sets a one-byte value in the CMOS telling the X31 not to perform the wireless card compatibility check.

I agree i used the no-1802 and now i have a Atheros NON IBM card in my X31 and it works flawless.

Yeah, the 2915 will work, but you'll need an Atheros if you want:
a) 108MBps SuperG
b) MacOSX/86 Support.

Oh well. OSX86 does not have reliable sleep support yet, so it's really a moot point. Congrats! Does the green wireless LED light up when you activate it?
