original software

#1 Post by miro » Sun Oct 10, 2004 3:09 pm

i have recently bough ibm r50e notebook and had to reinstall windows cause they couldnt boot after 2 days.
now ibm rescue wouldnt load when i pressed acces ibm button during the boot, i only got a menu for going to BIOS or booting a temporarily OS.
why is this thus?

other thing that bothers me, is that when i reinstalled IBM software packages i do not get display options, like the green displAy of volume when i press volume up/down on the keyboard and i do not have a status bar of how many batteries i have.
please help me!

i updated all the drivers and everything.

To check if you have installed those drivers check here:
-Start>All Programs>Access IBM>ThinkPad Software Installer

Once there, select "View driver or application..." and now you can check if you have the "On Screen display" driver. If you do, reinstalled it or better yet, update it because an R50 probably has an update already for that driver.

Good luck Miro.
X220t IPS but but a bit unhappy with it
T60p 2007-93U 1600x1200 IPS (T42p is an overall better machine though. Lack of new IPS Thinkpads keeps me buying these older models!)
T42p 2373-KXU 1600x1200 IPS (The best ever!!)
A20p 2629-6UU 1400x1050 (My first Thinkpad!)
