BSOD and Keyboard Problem...help?...

#1 Post by Shatt » Tue May 29, 2007 8:59 am

I just received the 2 T60p's that I ordered a couple weeks ago, and I'm slightly disappointed. One is the standard 14", and the other is the 15" widescreen. From day 1, they randomly blue screen at least two to three times a day. On the 14", it looks like that black film under the keys is sort of bunched up/wrinkled down by the left side alt key. It makes a horrible crunching sound when you press the alt key or the left side of the space bar. Is this a common problem with thinkpads or is this an isolated issue. I can't see how the blue screen could be isolated, as it does it on both machines. Is this something that I need to call service for? I have 3 year on-site warranties for both.

Both are running Core 2 Duos at 2.0 ghz, 2 GB RAM, Win XP

I fixed the keyboard issue by removing it, and putting it back in. Build error on Lenovo's part. The bluescreen is still an issue though.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS from IBM, which stopped my BSODs. There are also BSOD when the memory sticks are not match - discussed in detail on this forum.
