Floppy drive won't read

#1 Post by jpapier » Tue May 29, 2007 3:46 pm

Enabled in BIOS. Floppy drive lights up and shows up in windows. Insert floppy window comes up, I put in disk and it won't spin up and read. First problem I had, the blue floppy eject button was stuck in and the floppy would not stay in. I opened the drive and bent the metal catch on the other end of the eject button so the floppy cover cam would release it. Damaged-floppy drive or ultra bay 2000 connector? How would I check?

Pulled the drive apart again. Found something binding the drive so that the floppy would not drop down on the platter.
edit; Got it reassembled and back in the TP and a floppy formatted.
