Problem deleting Norton anyone?

#1 Post by dorronto » Wed May 30, 2007 8:20 am

I've acquired a nice hard drive with Norton 2004 on it. I never use Norton, so I want to delete it. Except----there doesn't seem to be an option to delete it. I went through Control Panel and Add/remove software, but it tells me there is a certain file missing so it wont delete it!

What's my best way of deleting Norton? Should I be maybe in SAFE mode so nothing gets loaded first?

Any response would be appreciated. I really don't like Norton software...........................

Thanks,
Ron

use this: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ts ... 3108162039
It is the SYMantec Norton Removal Tool.
I have to use it most of the time to remove NIS or NAV 2004 and newer.

edit: oops, I should have read the above link before posting.

Even the Symantec tool is not able to remove it completely. There is still one driver registration left in the registry (I can't recall the details).
