I've read numerous accounts of people flashing their BIOS without a charged battery. Does anyone know of a working method using the latest BIOS update from IBM?
One set of instructions I tried was the following.
-----------------------------------------------------
phlash.exe and
$0179000.FL1
$0179000.FL3.
and rename the
$0179000.fl1 to bios.rom ,
$0179000.fl3 to platform.bin
then run phlash.exe
------------------------------------------
There's a slight problem. The official IBM upgrade disk does not have
'$0179000.FL1'
'$0179000.FL3'
It has two files:
$0043000.fl1 and $0043000.fl2
When I run the "phlash.exe" it tells me that "the vendor signature could not be read from "platform.bin."
Any ideas?
(Or also, if someone has a battery that works that they'd be interested in loaning me for the 2 minutes this would take, let me know)
-Thanks everyone
