Is this a big mistake?
Is this a big mistake?
I am seriously considering buying this x31:

I have been wanting a ultraportable for quite some time now. although i'm a little sketched out by these big ebay refurb operations i am very close to pulling the trigger on this one.
anyone care to talk some sense into me before it's too late?

That one looks all right, Price is decent and there is a bit of warranty still left, too.
If you are in Canada (please add your location to your profile!) I'd go for it as you don't have to worry about customs.
P.S. I've bought a ThinkPad from Neogeo before (a few years ago) and I was very happy with the purchase, so there is at least one piece of anecdotal evidence to support this one.

I agree. Looks like a pretty good price. I paid more than that oneBay several months ago for my X31 1.6m.
Good luck with your purchase and be sure to post back how you make out.

I hear you, I've been watching for a nice X31 / X32 and possibly an X40 myself and, frankly, would be a whole lot more interested in buying one in the forum here for a reasonable price... I've also been looking at new X60/X61's and was thinking it might be a good idea to try and find a 1.7 or 2.0 x31/x32 to try out the X before buying a brand new one...plus I can use the 7200 rpm drive and 2 gig of existing RAM in those...
Curious to hear how your unit is, best of luck....
