Hey all
I am new here, but would really appreciate some help.
I currently have a IBM ThinkPad T42 Laptop. The other day when I turned it on I got this error message - 'UMB Upper Limit Segment Address : DC00', and since then the machine has been giving me problems.
At present the machine does not always switch on and takes a couple of attempts to get it going (The CPU fan and Power LED's always comes on). When it eventualy gets going it gets past the memory check and gives me that error. I can still access the bios etc and can get it to read a external HDD on the USB port but does not pickup the HDD when in the machine. But still does not boot.
Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Says in the linked page that you have a bad DIMM module or a bad system board.
1. DIMM
2. System board
