I would be curios as to what GPU is actually installed. I think the T40's only had a 32MB Radeon but your do get a 15" LCD. Ask the seller for the 7 digit model # off the bottom of the machine. Then you can look it up on Lenovo's web site and verify the specs.

RE: Price

I am constantly amazed at the price of used Thinkpad's outside of the U.S. The price seems kind of high. If it were for sale in the U.S. I would not pay $500 for it. However I don't know what the used laptop market is like in the Netherlands.

It seems like a good T40 though, then again all T series machines are good because they are Thinkpads.
New:
Thinkpad T430s 8GB DDR3, 1600x900, 128GB + 250GB SSD's, etc.
Old:

ThinkPad Tablet 16GB 1838-22U
IBM Thinkpad X61T, T61, T43, X41T, T60, T41P, T42, T410, X301

Thanks for replying :D
I was also thinking about the advertising text. The word high quality is a little bit confusing. I also know that the T40 has a Mobility Radeon 7500, or a Mobility Radeon 9000
(Both 32MB)
Some lightweight games are playable i have read here on the forum, so that's no problem.

And the price, yes. IBM laptops are very hard to find here in the Netherlands. Especially if you don't live in the middle of the Netherlands. Mostly companies sell old overstockings of IBM laptops.

And that €370 ($497.33) is one from the cheaper T40's i could find. There are also T40's that are sold for €525 ($705.923).
This is because IBM's are so tough and are very hard to find etcetera etcetera...

And why not buying it from a US seller here on the forum or you can use ebay, right?

Well, you could probably do better in the US - TigerDirect has off-lease T40s like this but with CDRW/DVD and a 12 month warranty for $550. But if they are hard to come by where you are, the price isn't too bad.

E-bay ++

Otherwise I would go ahead and buy the laptop locally from the source you already have.

I just bought a T42 off ebay UK for £240. Just a basic model: 2373-CTO, 1.7 GHz, 512MB, 40GB, 14.1", Radeon 7500 32Mb, wirleless a/b/g, XP Pro, etc. It's in very good condition with 18 months warranty left. I tried ebay USA, but when you add postage - varied between $90-$150 - it's not so cheap. Also, they come with a USA keyboard, and it costs to get a UK one.

I got a T41 (basic specs) for €400 off ebay here in Munich, Germany. Was well pleased with the price. I had to replace the absolutely hopeless wlan card and bought a dvd burner off ebay USA for next to nothing (€35) - they cost you an arm and a leg here in Europe...
bog standard T41 (2373), 54MBit Wlan, DVD-burner, purring along at 35°C or thereabouts on ArchLinux

Somethings wrong...

The 15" screens were not introduced until the T42 series,
and no T4x feature a DB9 RS-232 port.
The specs are kind of "loose", but of course not everybody knows much about specifications :) ... or was just in a hurry when it was written.

I have called the guy, and i can go take a look at Wednesday.

I hoped i could take a look at it today, but the guy wasn't at home right now, he returns at wednesday.

I think me and my will take it with us if it looks okay (no defective parts or other secret damages)

I am gonna take this: PC Doctor ISO
With me so i can test the T40 unit.

I hope the deal succeeds, because i was looking for an A22m, but that was already sold :(

It's possible that the seller included the display bezel when measuring the diagonal length, not knowing that such a method is used only for CRT monitors.
