A22m Fails power-on. Has T-series exhibited similar?

My A22m thinkpad recently failed power-on after 3 yrs usage. From the A-series forum, this is a common problem with some users. i need a new
notebook, that will not exhibit the same power-on failure. i also currently own a R40 for 9 months, but would like to consider what i believe is the more robust T-series. Has anyone experienced similar adverse power-on failure with their T-series?
