Keyboard not working

#1 Post by Manarius » Sun Jun 03, 2007 12:37 pm

My keyboard's bottom row of letters does not work at all

I am not able to use the letters from left shift to b and I am only able to use m if I press really really hard on the keyboard

Also no periods or commas. (using on screen keyboard)

I also have to press the enter button really really hard for it to work - and that's questionable.

Forward slash does work, but right shift, ctrl and alt don't either.

Did you drop it by accident?

Looks a more of a hardware problem to me. Open your keyboard up and put it back.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

I reseated the connector to the keyboard and reinstalled the drivers - still no change.

I didn't drop it or anything of that nature. It worked when I got it back from the depot, but now it doesn't.

yeah i had the same problem with my laptop..here is what u do....

call up ibm support

tell the person that your keyboard fails the system diagnostic checks and u would like new one

if your in warranty they will have to replace it (they shipped mine in one day..it is customer replacable)being that the diagnostic check flaged the part as being "faulty"

it worked for me... i hope it works for you! :D
