Would you buy another Lenovo Tablet?

X60/X61 series specific matters only.

Would you buy another Lenovo Tablet?

#1 Post by ljmjag » Sun Jun 03, 2007 12:39 pm

So I am thinking about pulling the trigger on the purchase of a new X61 tablet. I haven't owned a tablet computer in several years, although I had previously owned the original Toshiba (tecra?) tablet, which I sold for being too heavy, and subsequently purchased the Compaq TC1100 which I used for a few years until I finally couldn't stand the slow Transmeta processor any longer.

I've been using the Sony TX series (TX250) as my "ultraportable", but it's getting a little long in the tooth and I am ready to replace that machine and would like to get back to using tablets, which I have missed.

I've read up on all the various tablet sites and have visited several local stores to play with a few.

Now I have the $64,000 question (actually more like the $2,500) question - despite all the various issues that some people may have had with their X60 series, given the opportunity, would you purchase this tablet computer again, or would you have any hesitation to purchase another X6_ series tablet? Since I believe that there is no better measure of whether a computer is worthy of a purchase then those people who actually own and use them on a daily basis, I've turned to this forum for your collective input.

Thanks for your honest thoughts -

Lee

I previously had the tablet on my signature. Returned it and am probably going to get the x61.

I currently have a compaq tc1000 and a thinkpad x40

--I briefly had an x60 tablet through work. I am a huge thinkpad fan btw.

Anyway, I found the x60 tablet a bit too heavy compared to my x40 (so light I forget its in my backpack). I didn't fight to keep the x60t, and am currently in queue for an x61s ultralight.

The x60 tablet is a fine machine, solidly built etc. ...maybe I would have felt differently with an SXGA+ screen, similar to a T30 (my favorite thinkpad, btw) I had a while ago.

Hope that helps.
