Longer X61, X61s, X61T battery life? Fact or Fiction?
Possibly fact.
When nobody was looking, it looks like Lenovo upgraded their X60 battery line. Though there is no FRU for the battery in the X61T being built for me, I did find there are now enhanced batteries for these machines., the 4 and the 8 cell providing 3.55 hours play time (up from 3) and 7.9 hours (up from 7).
It gets interesting when you look at the ThinkPad® X60, X60s, X61, and X61s Hardware Maintenance Manual published with the X61/X61s release. One of the 4-cell batteries in this document is listed at 2.6Ah (vs 2.0), which corresponds to the new "enhanced" 4 cell being offered by Lenovo. An 8-cell battery in this same document is listed as 5.2Ah (vs. 4.5), which corresponds to the new high power (more expensive) 8-cell battery. Note that the FRUs don't match between the web site and the manual.
I might be willing to wager on that I discovered the secret!
Here's the links for the batteries...

You know the fact one is for X6x tablet series and another is for non-tablet X6x series right?

You are correct about the new 8-cell battery. It does not list the tablet. The enhanced 4-cell, on the other hand, specifically is for the X61 tablet.
If you are looking for a battery upgrade, and are willing to spend the money, search lenovo with +"X60" +"8-cell" or +"4-cell". Intuition tells me that the 8-cell will be marked compatible with the x61 tablet soon. Pages seem to change daily as new ones are added....

Looks like the answer is fiction. This what the tabook says about X61 tablet battery life, and it is less than for the X60. So much for the hype. Note that the current model on sale is 7764 and that isn't in the tabook.pdf file.
