Compatibility Issues with Vista 64

#1 Post by xaveon » Mon Jun 04, 2007 12:11 pm

I would like to get 4GB and the only way to address that much RAM is to use the 64-Bit version of Vista. Do you guys know if Vista 64 is backwards compatible with 32-Bit applications? Will I have compatibility issues with many applications and drivers? What are the drawbacks of using Vista 64 this early?

64-bit Vista (and XP) generally runs 32-bit applications fairly well. However, the driver selection is still relatively limited, and there is no guarantee for specific applications.

If you are interested in moving to 64-bit now, give Microsoft's application compatibility toolkit (ACT) a try a this URL:
