Hold Time when calling Lenovo

#1 Post by aphex » Mon Jun 04, 2007 2:21 pm

WTF happened to the good old customer service with this thinkpads?

I ordered a new X60 and wanted to query about something on my order. I've tried to call Lenovo twice now, first time i hung up after being on hold for an hour, today i've been holding for 72 minutes and still no one.

WTF LENOVO!

That's strange, what number are you dialing?
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

I usually get by in about 30-40 mins average. Mondays are really tight though, why don't you try tomorrow?

Gee, those guys are torturing you. Last time when I got in touch with Lenovo US was in year 2005, it was still IBM back then, almost the begining of lenovo's reign.

Call them very early in the morning. I just called them last Monday at something like 7 a.m. Eastern time and waited for no more than half a minute.

So i finally got through after 85 minutes of waiting and spoke to a rep... When i inquired about the shipping delay on my X60, she noted it was due to a backorder on the dvd drive...

Having half a brain from waiting so long, i accepted her answer as fact and went on with my life.

Only to sit here and ponder 10 minutes later about how my X60 dosen't have, nor does it come with a dvd drive...

DOH!

grrrrrrrr

You had a reason to believe her after all that waiting, imagine what her excuse would be? I know people often get stressed out by doing such kind of job of taking calls all day but giving incorrect info. is certainly not acceptable.

A friend of mine who works in lenovo Triangle Park N.C. told me the sales reps are just there to entertain you and possess little to none knowledge on even basic issues (forget about technical). More surprisingly, they have same tools to check your order as you do. By the way the recent increase in wait time is due to workforce cut by lenovo.

Alas, the same is true for many, many, many other companies out there. Probably even most.
