OK, so maybe this is old news already ...
TOKYO -- Toshiba Corporation today announced it will start marketing two new 2.5-inch hard disk drives (HDD) offering the world's largest storage capacity in this form factor: the MK2720F, a 19mm high, 1.35 gigabyte (GB) drive, achieves the highest capacity of any 2.5-inch HDD; the MK1926F, is a 12.7mm high super-slim drive with an 815 megabyte (MB) capacity -- the highest of capacity of any super-slim HDD.
April 1995 ... and it was JPY 150,000 ($1500), too! :shock:

What does "Giga" mean?
