Just picked up a $15.00 thinkpad
It's not much but it's all there.
Thinkpad 365XD 2625-FE9
I cant find much onto it.I belive it's a P-133Mhz.It has 40 megs ram and a 1.3 gig hard drive.
Has cd-rom and external floppy.Even came with a ac power adapter.
Not the best laptop but not bad for $15.00.
The system looks just like new, about a 9 out of 10.
I'll fool around with it for a while than maybe put it up for someone else in the for sale forum.

Congratulations! The AC adapter alone is worth $15.

And probably the external floppy drive too! I paid $11 for one of those drives almost two months ago when looking at a 365XD (2625-6R3). The dual-scan screen at 256 colors was quaint and using Windows 95 after all these years was fun.

It has Win98 on it and run's OK now.
I just took the small hard drive out and try to put it in the 570E i now have back from my sister.
It fit in the system but came up with a lock on the hard drive. From just after the IBM screen.Befor windows starts up.
Now if i put it back into the 365XD system it boots up to Win98 fine.
Strange.

I bet the 365XD looks disgusting sitting right next to the 570E, the ugliest and the prettiest Thinkpads I've seen, respectively.SaberX wrote:I just took the small hard drive out and try to put it in the 570E i now have back from my sister.

Win98SE was so nice to run on my old 760XD. I was told I might have gotten 2000 on that 166Mhz with a little work, but never tried.
Likewise, it might be worth it for you to bump up that RAM...

Windows 2000 Professional Minimum System Requirements:
133 MHz or higher Pentium-compatible CPU.
64 megabytes (MB) of RAM recommended minimum; more memory generally improves responsiveness [4 gigabytes (GB) RAM maximum.]
2 GB hard disk with a minimum of 650 MB of free space. (Additional free hard disk space is required if you are installing over a network.)

Windows 95 after all these years is just plain dangerous let alone fun lol
Windows 2000 on "Best performence" settings runs pretty nice on a system quite a bit under the min spec requirements, you can actually get Windows XP showhorned onto a 760 if you try hard enough, but of course you need a bigger hard drive and have to install it using another computer first. And then afterwards t crawls at about 0.3mph
760ED All the way.
FEEL THE BURN! From the bottom of that particular laptop... right in the bawsack! eek

I was once told that as well. "Stripped down" were the words used to describe XP on a 760. Didn't seem like much fun at all.gearguy wrote:Windows 2000 on "Best performence" settings runs pretty nice on a system quite a bit under the min spec requirements, you can actually get Windows XP showhorned onto a 760 if you try hard enough, but of course you need a bigger hard drive and have to install it using another computer first. Eventually I just cannibalized the drive for an external USB case. When I have the time I plan on reassembling one of my 760s again, though.
