Unstable wireless on T61 Vista

I just received a brand new T61. Very Nice!!!
However, the wireless connection fluctuates from 90% to 10% (and sometimes 0%). I don't lose the connection, but the fluctuation really bothers me. Running Vista

Can anyone help? Should I return this to the vendor?

Which wireless card are you using? Access Connections or Windows' wireless networking? Do you have another wireless network you can test on?

Yes, I have a second thinkpad running in the same environment under Windows XP with a rock solid connection.

check in the power settings, i believe there is an option to optimized battery use for the wifi. that may be doing it.

Ah, it's an Intel. Well, that's part of the problem to begin with. They underperform compared to the Atheros cards.
