Interesting, but not exactly new. It looks like Asus is just resurrecting the handheld PC, which BruisedQuasar has promoted many times on this forum (e.g. this thread). I owned a Jornada 720 briefly last year, and it feels like a hybrid of a PDA and an ultraportable laptop.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP

If this isn't vapourware, I may well consider one...
It's interesting because it's a full x86 machine. I am under the impression that most handheld-like devices feature ARMs or similar processors; you can run whatever you please on x86.
x86 + 802.11g + 0.89kg + $200 is a winning combination.

It could have better display resolution (some other article speculates 800x480). Unfortunately I expcet the price to be doubled (comparing to USD exchange rate) in the !@#$% EU as usually
BTW does it have any USB port ?
And other one from VIA http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3746
