Transfer TPP to new T42P

#1 Post by ipXpert » Tue Oct 12, 2004 1:23 pm

I have had a t42 for about 3 months now but I might buy a t42p. My t42 has the Thinkpad/Total Protection Plan that has not been used yet. Can I transfer that to my new T42p or does it have to stay with the T42?

Your help is appreciated.

I doubt it very much. The warranty is "attached" to the computer, not the owner.

Without meaning to sound rude, you should have done your research properly in the first place thus ensuring you bought the correct machine that met your needs from day one.

Wow! Rude, judgemental and in denial!

Nice hat trick.

The OP's decision to upgrade to a T42p from a T42 is hardly sufficient cause for you to deride him for "not having done their research".

After him owning a T42 for 3 months and then deciding to upgrade, I'd say my initial post is correct.

Now if money is no object then you have nothing to worry about, but if you’re spending $1000’s on a car/computer/whatever then decide it’s not up to the job after a very short time I’d call it pretty poor planning, wouldn’t you?

I guess what I'm saying is that people need to think a bit more before making buying decisions. Look at his warranty problem for a start......
