Wireless not working after update

#1 Post by pej2000 » Wed Jun 06, 2007 10:05 pm

Hello and help!

I was trying to figure out how to get a USB device to run that needed a USB 2.0 enabled connection.

I ran the System Update 3.0 tool from Lenovo and let it do its thing, including updating the Bios and the Wireless driver.

I still dont have USB 2.0 and worse I can't get wireless internet access. The Network driver looks OK and I can run Access Connections. When I ask it to Scan for access it comes back with a "none found" so quickly I know it hasn't really looked. If I just try to "Turn wireless Radio On" nothing happens.

Can anyone help me out of this?
THanks for any suggestions
Paul

As I work with it more it seems clear that the wireless just will not power on.

System Restore actually worked for once and wireless is back up. Don't think I'll try the System Update again....way to messy.

Any ideas about USB 2.0?

I don't use either, but i think software installer is way better then system update. I tried system update once and uninstalled pretty fast. You should also know that the latest wireless driver might require a update of the hotkey feature set and AC (if you use AC).

Regarding USB 2.0 there are several threads about that problem already so you could try to search in this forum and will probably find several answers. Seems like it's a hardware issue and the only solution in that case is to replace the motherboard. A lot of people had this problem and i know for sure that several got it solved after they got a new motherboard.
