WTB a silent and cool T42 with an immaculate Flexview screen.
It should have approximately the following specs:
Thinkpad T42
LCD: 15" Flexview SXGA+ (or UXGA)
GPU: Radeon 9000 or greater
CPU: 1.6 - 1.8 GHz
RAM: as much as possible
WLAN: Atheros 802.11 G
HDD: low rpm & silent preferred
DVD: DVD Multi burner is a plus
FAN: Long Fan preferred
WRTY: some months intl. warranty left on the unit would be good.
If you would have a T42P with an immaculate Flexview,
of which you know it is silent and stays cool, that could also be an option.
Important to me would be, that you check the unit.
The Flexview should really be flawless.
Please carefully inspect the screen, if it has any defects,
in the form of dead pixels,
or grey specks/areas on white background,
or leakage of backlighting at the outer borders.
I do not care about slightly darker areas at the corners of the LCD.
If the case had some scratches (not cracks), I wouldn't care,
even though I would want to pay extra for a like-new case.
I would want to offer USD 600.- for a top notch unit,
subject to condition and included extras.
To simplify things, I will provide a shipping address within USA.
Thanks,

scosgt1,
Thanks very much for your offer, your T43 looks like a good machine.
But I'm searching a T42, which would be compatible to my R51 1829-EHG.
AFAIK the T43 internals are significantly different to the R51.
Cheers
