How to get a center mouse button?

#1 Post by wrybread » Fri Jun 08, 2007 6:51 am

Is there a way to get a center mouse button on a T30 that has both the pencil eraser and the touchpad? For example, I'd like to click a link in Firefox and have it automatically open in a new tab, as it does with a center click.

You have a blue center mouse button on your keyboard...just make sure it's assigned in your trackpoint properties.

Although one button is easier (and I hope for you dsigma6's solution works for you), you can always ctrl + click in firefox (I'm adapted to middle-clicking but use ctrl + click on the road because I love the middle-mouse-scrolling).

yeah I use control-click now, but I'd love to be able to click one of the buttons for the pencil eraser, since I don't use those for anything else (I use the touchpad).

I tried setting the "eraser buttons" to center click in UltraNav, but can't find the setting. I'm able to reassign either of the buttons for the touchpad to center click, but not the eraser buttons.

Hmm.

You have to shut off the scrolling in the mouse properties.

Oh that's a bummer, I really like using the pencil eraser for scrolling. You'd think there'd be a way to use scrolling and still assign one of those eraser buttons to be a center click.

Hmm.
