I understand Core 2 Duo will not work fine with Windows 2000

Mainly with the Power Management and CPU speed control, nonetheless I understand this can be solved using NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) or RightMark CPU, I mean those tools will manage the CPU Power Management, Clock, Voltage, etc. in order the Code 2 Duo CPU will work fine, I am correct ?, please confirm, thanks

NOTE: I have an X60 with 2Ghz Core 2 Duo.
