TP 600E BIOS UPDATE PROBLEM

#1 Post by SUSIEJO » Sun Jun 10, 2007 1:59 am

Does anyone know if or how to update your BIOS without a battery?
I haven't had a battery for my TP for quite a while now but I now need to update my BIOS and it won't unless I have a battery.

I did a search and found this link. I have actually used it and has worked for me.

EDIT: Sorry about that. It is corrected now.

Ran into the same problem with my 600e I got recently. Found this:

http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/topic6929.html

Read the whole thread (it's only 1 page). It explains everything. I did it like they said it and flashed the BIOS just fine even using a disassembled T20 floppy drive.

Don't worry about messing up your TP - the battery requirement is in case of a power failure while updating your BIOS. What's the likelyhood of that? (Pretty small).
