Crazy Hypothetical build your own battery question.

#1 Post by fefrie » Sun Jun 10, 2007 3:56 am

If the battery on a t23 is rated at 10.8 volts and the power source is rated at 16 volts, then would I be able to use a car battery and with a plug adaptor, plug it directly into the power plug? Since the car battery is 12 volts, would it work?

You can buy specific car-adapters, I would not directly connect a car-battery to your TP. In most cars, the electric system supplies more like 14-15V!!!! (bye-bye TP).

Cigarette lighter power inverters sufficient to run the laptop off AC are pretty much dirt cheap these days. Easiest best answer to powering the laptop while in a vehicle.

I have a 400 Watt inverter that goes wherever I need it to, and I can use the powered speakers with sub-woofer when the kids watch movies on the laptop.
Common sense to some of us is unfortunately the higher education others strive to attain.

That's what i think too, done it before.

Recently at the local Canadian-Tire they had a 75 watt inverter on sale for $9.99 CAD
