Base software Administrator error ...

#1 Post by mnezor » Sun Jun 10, 2007 5:06 am

I want to try a clean or custom install of winXP pro with this tool:
Base Software Administrator but when I start the program I get an error message '' The version of the recovery program within this computer's service partition does not support customizations'' . . . I think I have to update the recovery program of the service partition but how i can do this...

Thanks in advance !!!

p.s. I got already installed rescue and recovery 4.

The tool is only supported on 60 series systems that shipped after July of 2006....

When did you get your R60?

Chances are, with that error, it's an older system.

You can contact Lenovo to see if they will send you a recovery set for free.... or $45.

THey update the recovery media every few months, and it is likely that the updated media will now support the tool or even have it built in.

You can find the manufacturing Year/Month beside the serial number on the bottom of your thinkpad.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

It wriites 06/10 so I supposed shipped after July 2006 :)

The news is that I find an older version of B.S.Administrator , version 1 (now it is 1.1 ) and It works great .... but ... when I tried to recovery the system (when system boot -press thinkvantage button ) it tries to find the X: drive , but my recovery partition is Z: and then stops...

Any ideas?

thank you very much!
