X30 WiFi questions.

#1 Post by NecessaryEvil » Wed Oct 13, 2004 12:42 pm

I'm planning on getting an X30 off a guy this weekend.

it doesn't include a wireless card.

I had a WiFi card in my old X30...but don't remember the model number.

I'm looking into one of the following mPCI cards, and any help would be appreciated:

1. 802.11b w/ onboard modem. This is the card I had in my X30, and it was PRISM based. It worked perfectly in Linux. But, I don't know what the part number was to search for it again.

2. 802.11ABG (Atheros Based). This is the card I ran in my X31, my T41P, my T41, and my T42P. But, is it compatible with the X30?

3. 802.11BG (Centrino Intel based). This card is one of the cheaper 802.11g cards out there that is supported by IBM. Again, any compatibility issues with the X30?
