T61 Shipping Tomorrow??

I ordered a T61 on 5/23 during Lenovo's Memorial Day Sale. I felt pretty good about the price especially in taking advantage of an additonal 5% discount by using my Visa card - a suggestion I found on this forum. Despite the news from Lenovo posted on this forum that they screwed up the "majority of T61 orders between 5/9 and 5/25, " my estimated shipping date remains at its original estimated shippng date of 6/11.

I am hoping that by early this week I will find out that my purchase was not part the majority of sales that Lenovo screwed up in May. I don't mind spending the extra dollars for the extra quality (pre-Lenovo) that I've found in my Thinkpads over the years. I do find the T61 order mess at Lenovo very disheartening and not a great reflection on quality practices there.

A posting here indicated that someone had actually received a more prompt T61 shipment by dropping his original Memorial Day Sale order and re-ordering. In anticipation of problems with my T61 order, I re-ordered a second T61 on Thursday and found that my initial estimated shipping date was 6/22. Unfortunately, by the following day the estimated shipping date had slipped all the way back to 8/2.

I don't know what's going to happen with my first order due to ship as early as tomorrow. I do know what I'm going to do with my second order - cancel it. I don't understand how Lenovo feels that the present 2 month span between order and shipment is even vaguely acceptable. I sure hope Lenovo can build laptops bettter than they can process orders at their website.
