Power Manager not displaying profiles anymore

#1 Post by skanky » Mon Jun 11, 2007 2:05 am

In both Power Manager and windows power management, i've lost all the profiles, in windows, the default "always on" and "laptop/portable" ones are still there but nothing else.

this is what i get:

i have reinstalled power manager and unable to create new profiles with it (it appears as above when i try) but i am able to create a new profile with windows power but again, it doesnt show in power manager, just shows the above.

anyone know a fix?

I had the same problem, You probably need to replace the registry entries under HKEY_Current_User->Control Panel-> PowerCfg->PowerPolicies. If you look there you will probably have alot of excess policies shown, i had near 100.

You can get a new copy of these policies by creating a new windows account. You should now be able to change power policies under the new login. Simply export the PowerPolicies key under this account to disk. Now change back to your original windows account. Now delete the powerpolicies key and replace it with the backup copy you made from the new account. Worked perfectly for me.

You can feel free to delete the new account you made once done as well.
