#1 Post by intelbrain » Tue Jun 12, 2007 11:50 am

nah very little difference - its all in the CPU and GPU- you put a T60p up against a T61p benchmarks are going to be neck and neck assuming same cpu used- the T60p may actually be faster :)

GPU wise i'd say the Nvidia is a good bit faster...depends what you want, but for general use, you won't notice the difference...the T61 release is just an update really...

Also T61p has a better upgrade path 800Mhz ram etc...

I doubt the 5250 will stand a chance against the 570M.

The 5250 has something aroung 1600 3dMarks 06 I think.
I guess the 570M is either a 8600M GS oder 8600M GT, which would result in something around 2700-3300 3Dmarks.

yeah, I agree the 570M is far more powerful than the FireGL V5250. CPU performance is quite similar, however the T61 have a different fan design than the T60 so its operation is more quieter and cooler

The T61p hasn't even been announced yet. Nobody really knows when it'll come out.

The lenovo customer rep told me that end of July for T61p. I decided against it anyways.

Then, they said t61p would be released on June 15th

Now, it was said it would be released in the end of July.

Who are 'they'? Have Lenovo ever said the above? If not, then it's all rubbish...

I'm glad to know they're practically the same, because my t60p is coming today, and I was beginning to wonder if I had made a mistake by not waiting. If the only notable difference is a slightly faster graphics card on the 61, that's fine with me. The FireGL is plenty fast for my needs.

gpu difference

#11 Post by ebonytyger » Sat Jun 23, 2007 7:08 pm

although the gpu is upgraded on the 61 model, the performance boost will not be noticed or utilized by the average user. in fact, i doubt that most of the you who are raving about the better benchmark score will even benefit from having the new gpu as opposed to the v5250.
