Screen Protectors recommendation for X60 Tablet
Am looking around for one, so would love to hear your experience and recommendataion.
Not just any screen protector, it should work with the tablet function of the X60. Normal screen protector just gives anti-glare, scratch resistance etc, but touchscreen/tablet pen needs a bit more sensitivity so that it can detect the tablet pen.
Any tablet user using a good sp? I have research and so far there are a)invisibleshield
b) 3M filters
c) Nushield
d) WriteClear or something
Thank you

Received my Invisble shield
Just received my invisbleshield for my X60 tablet from Shieldzone. considered that I processed my order on 14 June and it got here on 22June all the way from USA to Singapore, it's EXCELLENT speed and delivery. (Free shipping too).
will apply it on monday when I am back in office under an air-conditioned room to minimize dust.
Will update those intereted how it turns out in terms of tablet function, clarity (multitouch/multiview).
Just a quick question, what is the best way to remove the dust/oil/smudges on the LCD screen in your experience? Note: Am using a commerical lcd screen cleaning kit, with microfibre cloth, some cleansing solution and I have read most of the 'safe' procedures for lcd screen after googling.
Just want to find out any additional expertise and experience from fellow thinpad users.
Thanks

I tried 2 different protectors for my x60.
The first one was rather cheap and the second one more expensive and firmer.
Nonetheless i hated both and threw them away.
It was impossible for me to apply them without having bubbles under them.
Looking for a alternative i decided to buy the felt nibs which i use now since like 2 or 3 months.
Their advantage is that they are very soft and will not scratch the screen ever (i ink alot) but the disadvantage is you have to replace them every 2 months (10 felt nibs cost 10 bucks) because they loose their shape.

when you said you hated them, could you elaborate? did you not like it just because of the bubbles or because you felt you couldnt ink as good on it? i too will be inking on mine alot so i want to keep it protected.
i ordered the felt tips too, which should prevent the scratching from inking, but when i try to erase, it seems like that might have the potential to scratch as well. mines not multitouch so it shouldnt get to oily, and i can clean that if it does, i just dont want scratches and want my inking surface as nice as it can be.

i hated them because i was unable to apply them without the bubbles.
The first protector (the cheap one) i applied without much care so i have to blame myself there.
But with the second i was very carefull and still i had some dust and bubbles under it.
I dont remember anything bad about the inking on them but i haven't dont alot until i removed the protectors.
I have another small touchscreen device (nokia 770) where i also removed the protector after a while but not because of the bubbles but because i didn't like how much harder i had to press the pen on the screen (my x60 has no touchscreen, its wacom only).

thanks for the reply. i think ill just try the felt nips for a while and see how they go. has anyone experienced any scratching when they rub the eraser on the screen? i guess that would be my biggest concern at this point.

Isopropyl alcohol on a micro fibre cloth. Use a light touch and wipe one way.Ideasmiths wrote:Just received my invisbleshield for my X60 tablet from Shieldzone. considered that I processed my order on 14 June and it got here on 22June all the way from USA to Singapore, it's EXCELLENT speed and delivery. wipe one way....hmmm.
I use the circular motion most 'techie' recommended. still getting lots of 'streaks'.
I have experience sending my thinkpads back to lenovo service and they came back very clean. Heard from a friend that they uses some foam plus microfibre cloth....
Sigh, I don't want to leave any dust beneath when I apply the shield

I have installed the screen protector and started a new thread (more appropriate) http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 754#303754
