Change of shipping address after order?

#1 Post by Trolle » Thu Jun 14, 2007 5:03 pm

Did a search on this, but couldn't find anything.

Has anyone had luck with changing a shipping address after an order was placed?

I sit on hold for 35 minutes before my patience expires.

Ordered an X61 6/6 and scheduled to ship 6/22

When I spoke to CSR about this he said it'll be messy. He suggested best route is to call when UPS has it and try to get it re-routed. I don't like that suggestion.

So if you change address and update your credit card with new address when they go to charge it should clear. Not sure what the hassle is.

I have the same situation going on. My sales rep of course says "shouldnt be a problem". We'll see what happens.

If anyone is in a similar situation, I just spoke to Lenovo about the issue of changing the shipping address.

If I wanted the shipping address changed once the order has been placed then it will delay the shipment by a few days.

I had the option of having Lenovo arrange with UPS to not deliver the package to an empty house but keep the package at a distribution center where I can pick it up myself. This only applies to packages that have already been shipped rather than being processed.

I was unable to do this for the actual laptop (the other item is a mouse) since I have to wait until it physically shipped and I got the confirmation email that it was on the boat.

That was my experience. Nice service once I had someone on the phone but had to wait about 15 minutes on hold. That is not really good service.

Wonder if UPS will redirect if your new address is in a different city.
