USE IPOD Mini to backup files on a T42?

#1 Post by jsmit86 » Thu Oct 14, 2004 9:45 am

Does anyone know if you can use an Ipod mini to backup files from a T42 via USB. (Not just MP3s)

Thanks!

Hi! all you need to do is to enable disk mode for the iPod and it will act as a storage drive whereby you will be able to create a folder for your backups.

I frequent the iPod lounge forums, as I'm an iPod user also, and there is a WEALTH of info over there.

www.ipodlounge.com

To enable disk use, mount your iPod to the computer and open iTunes.Look down at the lower left of the screen, and right click on the icon. There should be "preferences" in there somewhere. Just pick "manual" update.

I'm not positive about this, but I think after you mount the iPod, on the left side in the taskbar, if you right click on it, there is a selection of "enable disk use". I'm not positive though. That should work too.

Now, every time you mount your iPod, you can find it in My Computer.

Now though, your library won't update automatically. I much prefer manual anyway though.
