USB keyboard with UltraNAV
Does the external USB keyboard with UltraNav implement USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 in the integrated USB hub?
I called IBM directly (sales, tech support and IBM options) - none of them could answer this question.

I'm not certain if this is the answer you're looking for or not, but just like one of the Port Replicators or docks, the USB ports will pass whatever USB protocol the connected system supports.
E.g., if connected to a T40, the ports on the keyboard will be USB2.0. If connected to a T21, they'll be USB1.1.
That answer the question?

James

It is not so at least for some hubs. I have targus pocket hub (had to cut away terrible blue leds) and when I connect it to usb 2.0 port it gives only usb 1.1 through.JHEM wrote:I'm not certain if this is the answer you're looking for or not, but just like one of the Port Replicators or docks, the USB ports will pass whatever USB protocol the connected system supports.

Well Ive received my new usb keyboard with ultranav and to help people in the future - This keyboard does not impliment USB 2.0 in the embedded hub - its only 1.1.
How did I prove this?:
I connected my USB 2.0 pen drive into the hub on the back of the keyboard (keyboard plugged into USB 2.0 on the side of my new T41p) - Windows XP immediately advised that a high speed device was connected to a low speed hub and to move it to a high speed port. Oh well. The keyboard is sweet
The other problem - the volume up and down keys work, but do not show the green bars on the screen (the manual advised that the volume was controlled at the OS level as opposed to the hardware level and using USB - blablabla - whatever - it adjusts the volume, just doesn't display it. The keyboard feel is great (just like the thinkpad) - no need for a mouse also saves desk space.
I was planning on setting the thinkpad on the foot stool and using the keyboard in my lap, but with resolution at 1400x1050 - everything is too small. Im going to order a port replicator II and 19" LCD soon, so this purchase is not a waste.

That is very, VERY strange! I have the "Enhanced Business keyboard" and the ports on it are most definitely USB2.0 when connected to my T40..exeCutionStyle wrote:Well Ive received my new usb keyboard with ultranav and to help people in the future - This keyboard does not impliment USB 2.0 in the embedded hub - its only 1.1.
When connected to one of my earlier machines without USB2.0 support, they're USB1.1 by default.
