I posted this here, so by all means go see what I did and come back.

I didn't even think about the fact that I could have posted it here under OS's.

Basically I installed XP Pro on the same hard drive, same partition as 2000 Pro. It was installed from the I386 folder from my A31. I used a legit COA, but didn't have any install media. This is on a T20. Now it appears to be set up as a dual boot, and I want to know how to get rid of Windows 2000. I don't need to retain any of the programs, etc. This computer was clean as I was trying to sell it. Now my wife is going to use it and she wanted XP.

XP resides in a directory WINDOWS.
Windows 2000 should be in a directory WINNT.

Boot into XP.
Then just delete this WINNT directory with everything in it.
Edit c:\boot.ini and remove the line with WINNT in it.
Set the Timeout=0.
Make sure that WINDOWS is the default startup in boot.ini.
Save the file.
That should do it.

If boot.ini is readonly, rightclick it in Explorer, select Properties and UNtick the Readonly box.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
