Is the .2GHz worth it?

12.1" UltraLight XGA TFT and Intel® Core™ Duo L7300 LV (1.4GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB)

12.1" UltraLight XGA TFT and Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7500 LV (1.6GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB), 2x3 UltraConnect II antenna

You can't really feel the difference performance wise, but I'd say upgrade it, you can't feel the difference for 75 bucks more once you're paying more than $1200 for a laptop.

Btw, how did you get $71.25? isn't it $75? :roll:

The $75 also gets you the 2x3 antenna for 802.11n -- I'd say it's a bargain.

considering that a 3rd antenna for N capability on my Z61m is USD55.00, i'd say it's a steal.

How much more distance do you get with wireless N. Is it a significant difference from Wireless G.

I haven't done the upgrade myself(i'm waiting for prices to settle) but my ibmmania forum members have almost doubled the amount of APs that it picks up. and the stability and range significantly improved.

What is that "2x3 ultraconnect 2 antenna"?

Is that the ugly, bulge of a WWAN antenna on the top edge of the display panel?

I would really like the extra .2GHz on my machine, but I do not want the WWAN antenna lump - I'm never going to use it and it gets in the way.

Thanks =)

I beg to differ from the above opinions. I believe it's crucial to get the L7300 with the 4MB L2 cache and not any of the lower models, but going from L7300 to L7500 with the extra .2GHz for $70+ bucks is not worth it IMO. The antenna is a different matter though. If it does improve wifi performance, then I think it's worth it.
