Can I recover .sys system files?

Hi all.

I just tried to use a new mouse & the auto-install detection works fine but it tells me that the sys file I need (HIDUSB.SYS) is missing.

I don't have an original Cd so i'm wondering if I can get this file back from some other location?

You can search your hard drive for the file. Maybe it is there, just not in the location that the installation program can find it. You can also try Windows Update. Oftentimes it can find driver files for common hardware.

Found the missing files in C:/I386!
