Look in Scheduled Tasks in Control Panel. Look in Event Viewer (Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer) for events that occur during the timeframe that it wakes up on it's own. Some software may be waking it up. It is also possible you have a hardware problem. Perhaps the lid switch is not working properly.

The crescent moon LED does light up when it goes in Standby doesn't it? It should.

Do you mean from standby or from hibernation?

There is also another possibility. If you are connected to LAN, the card could wake up the computer. If that is the case, you need to change the properties of the card so that it's not allowed to do that.

Certain device such as mouse and LAN can be allowed to bring the computer out of standby, but if no such device is attached, it shouldnt happen.

I have the same problem with my old T23 in that it occasionally comes out of standby when I handle it. This is not really a problem for me because it's no longer my work machine. I suspect it could be a faulty USB or LAN connection - maybe in your case, too.

check in the bios for an option called "allow wake from real-time clock" or something like that. You'll want to disable that option. That'll stop your laptop from waking up for scheduled events or the like and only wake from certain key presses or connected devices.
