Try the general device matrix page here,

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... yle=lenovo

and then select the T21.

I would recommend the system update from that same link and let that program handle all your updates and drivers.

I had to install some drivers manually, something I've not done before but with a little help from my cousin I got there in the end. Now I have to network laptop with my XP desktop via wireless G PCMIA card. Any tips?!?

I would network through a wireless router......

......or if your just file sharing, a USB drive makes quick work.

Is there a reason you are going to network "through" your PC or was it just a phrase? It can be done but your tying your laptop to your PC to get on the net.......

I already share an internet connection through a switch/router but wanted to be able to print from my laptop running 2k wirelessly to my printer connected to my desktop running XP upstairs. I have never used 2k before, but having a nose around I assume this is impossible. Am I wrong?

It's not impossible, not at all. Both OS's have much in common to include "sharing a device" which you can enable the printer as. There are couple of ways off the top of my head and both are simple once you understand how. I'd suggest taking a look at Microsoft's website for XP and 2k (if it still exists) and find out which method best suits you. Search for "shared device". Do you have access to your pc from the laptop yet?

My problem is that when trying to join a workgroup on my laptop (2k) I am told "...you must install networking before you can change this computers domain membership."

EDIT: The actual Domain & Workgroup boxes are greyed out & unalterable as is the Network ID Wizard.

I have installed Networking Services & Other Network File and Print Services from install CD but this did not seem to solve the problem.
