The Z61m is as solid as they come, but why not a new T61 unless you're getting a great price.

Its right now 799, I think the Z61M looks better than the T61.

it was a great mashine..

I just got my Thinkpad Z61M, your right about that it feels like a concept laptop to me. The sound doesnt sound that good either. The video doesnt look clear on it as it would on an XP machine, I am very diappointed with that.
It would have been better though if the machine came with an ATI graphics card instead of an Intel one. But I guess I will deal with it for now. I am selling my Thinkpad A20M for 300.00 or best offer.

I've never used a computer with such poor performance! I strongly advise against purchasing this machine. Read my post Z61M comes to a grinding halt.

Cheers,

I formatted and installed a clean format of Vista, and it runs better than the default it with lol Oh yea still it does feel like a prototype laptop but with more stability now :D

Is it even possible to buy a Z-series machine from Lenovo now? I never thought that it fit in with the other models very well.

the Z series is discontinued. If they are selling, they're selling off stock.

It should be noted that Rivan's "grinding halt problem" was the harddrive APS working. Running games with only 512megs of ram didn't help either.

The Z series was Lenovo's first try at a "consumer" thinkpad. wide screens(a thinkpad first), titanium lids etc...
I think it got a bad rep b/c of it's random lemons, and the comparisons to the flagship T series.

I've only had positive experiences with my machine.
