It should work find for splitting the VGA signal to separate R, G and B cables.

Can describe what it is exactly that you will be driving with the cable? If you're driving an analog monitor, you should be fine. If you're driving a TV, you may have problems.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.

I just want to connect my t61 to my hdtv. But I was told i might have problems and i might not. I could be wrong but i think it depends on the GPU. So i was just wondering if anybody knew if it was possible or if they have done this before?

It won't work....I wanted to buy the same cable from ram electronics and had gotten mixed messages from different people as to whether it would work or not. I called ram electronics and some guy told me that alone the cable definately wouldn't work for what I wanted. You have to buy some other converter that's rather expensive.

What I did was buy the dock from ebay for $100 and buy a 25 foot dvi cable to connect to my HDTV. It's a rather expensive solution but It gives you a better quality connection anyway. Now I'm hearing that the t61 is having problems working with the advanced mini dock, so I would advise you to stay away from buying the dock for now.

There was some cable I saw in and ad for microcenter that was like $40 and it claimed it was made to convert vga signals out of laptops. On one end it had the vga and on the other it had s-video and composite. Not very high resolution connections but it should work. I can't find that cable in the online ads and I don't remember the name. Maybe someone else knows.

Hey guys, I just found this link.

1st question: Does a T61 have a 7 pin S-VIDEO?

2nd question: If it does, will this work?

Check it out
