FS: X23 **SOLD**

#1 Post by The Spirit of X21 » Tue Jun 19, 2007 12:23 am

My very first item for sale here on the ThinkPad forum!

Here we have an X23 with 640MB RAM, a 30GB hard drive, Windows 2000 with COA and a 3COM a/b/g card with XJACK connector.

Overall, its condition is very good, with no major scratches and very few minor ones. That said, it does have a few items to note:
-the battery is dead
-the CF button is missing (it was when I purchased it)
-one of the black stickers that covers the LCD bezel screws is missing (a minor detail, but I like to disclose everything that I can think of)
-the modem card is missing. I took it out to try to integrate wireless access into the machine and can't remember where I put it. Not really a problem if you don't use a modem. Ethernet is integrated, so that is still present.
-the hinges are a bit loose. They hold the LCD up just fine, but there is some play.

I'd like to get $200 shipped for it. PM me if interested and I'll send you some pictures if you like.

I've used three X20's, one X21 and two X22's, and all of them had loose hinges. So that might actually be a normal feature for the X2* series.

Checking back in the archives, this is a popular "feature" on X2 systems. Seems that the only fix is to replace the hinges. I was curious since I have my first X22 system which has about 1/2" of play before there's a significant amount of force needed to overcome the "normal" tightness.

Searched using the following terms: x20 or x21 or x22 or x23 and loose and hinge*

Ditto.

This seems like a very nice machine. Lots of RAM, good graphics chip, and that Xjack card is probably at least $40 on its own. Good luck.

And the 512MB PC133 is worth US$45 to $50.
